One-of-a-kind (originals)
Designed, modelled and made by the artist himself or herself. A real original is unique - from top to toe. That's why originals - whether dolls or objets d'art - are generally made of a modelling plaster, and are only very rarely made of porcelain. (The mould-making required to produce all parts is generally too laborious and costly for a once-off porcelain doll, which is why special porcelain items are often individual items from vario small limited editions).

Head original
The head is an original, but not the body and limbs. A term which - unfortunately - should be taken with a pinch of salt, since it's very difficult to be certain that a slightly altered head model is not simply being touted as a 'head original'! That's why we're happy to refer you to the vario small limited editions!

Small limited edition
Conceived, modelled and designed by the artist, and produced by the artist in a limited edition of 10 or less. Small deviations are due to the fact that the items are handmade - they are therefore normal and often even intended.

Vario small limited edition
Limited like the small limited edition - rarely are more produced (e.g. vario restricted limited edition). Conceived, modelled and produced by the artist - but in versions which are often completely different. That means that the moulds for the head, hands and feet are used in accordance with the edition limit. But a vario small limited edition can result in works which are completely different from one another. Eye and hair colour, as well as painting and accessories, are commonly varied. However, within a vario small limited edition it is quite possible for several dolls or figures to be identical. The ‘vario small series' gives the artist the freedom to play around with his or her design, presenting works which are visually totally different even though based on the same form. Really special items are certified as 'one-offs'.

Restricted limited edition
Conceived, modelled and designed by the artist, with a maximum of 25 items being produced by the artist and/or the artist's assistants. Here, too, minor deviations are due to the fact that the items are handmade, and are thus normal.

Porcelain series - I
Modelled and designed by the artist, and produced in a smaller number of pieces (maximum of 50 pieces) with the help of assistants in his or her own workshop under the strictest artistic supervision
